Nectar Polytechnic for Women



Nectar Lifesciences Limited opened a charitable, registered vocational Institute on 18th May 2010 called Nectar Polytechnic for women (A unit of Nectar Lifesciences Charitable Foundation) under the Act XXI of 1860.

Mission

  • To elevate its status to a centre of excellence in Women’s technical education by a conscious and consistent enhancement of its performance.

 

Vision

  • To be a leading polytechnic to provide innovative, ethical, moral knowledge especially to rural & underprivileged students and uplifting their living standards by giving empowerment to women through technical education.

  • To attain excellence in all spheres of academics and to educate and motivate people for quality education in different disciplines viz., Art, Social Science and general management etc.

  • Maintain personal health and awareness.

  • To provide education to all irrespective of the caste, colour and creed.

 

Journey so far

  • With a thought to pay back to the society and to empower women in rural India, a seed was sown in June, 2008 to open Nectar Polytechnic for Women .

  • Nectar Life sciences Charitable Foundation was formed in July 2008 and Derabassi was decided to be location of the institute in Sep, 2008

  • Finally the institute was inaugurated on the auspicious day of Durga Ashtami on 3rd April, 2009.

  • Received certificate of Registration of societies under act XXI of 1860 on 18th May,2009.

  • Became authorized learning centre for PTU in 2010.

  • Started taking classes in the villages in 2011.

  • Covered 06 villages and educated almost 180 girls over there .

  • Almost 90% of the students are self sustained.

  • Educated almost 1000 girls so far.

 

Major Contributions

  • Providing free education to girls belonging to BPL families.

  • Impart basic Computer and English education free of cost to each and every girl irrespective of their course.

  • Providing Education in the villages.

  • Helping the students in placements.

  • Helping the students in opening their Boutiques and Parlors.

Other Major CSR Projects

  1. The Company will also spend a portion of its annual CSR expenditure towards education and skilling initiatives which supports organizations doing good work in education and also pushes other social organisations to implement education projects.

  2. Promoting Healthcare and Preventive Healthcare: Preventive healthcare has not inculcated in Indian society and in rural areas in particular, causing untold suffering. The CSR programme of the Company will be laid emphasis on preventive healthcare, one of the most important human development indicators with an aim to address the needs of all sections of society. Various medical institutions/ hospitals have been identified, where poor and marginal people are getting treated, for CSR programme.

  3. Eradicating Hunger/ Safe Drinking Water: The lack of safe drinking water is a major public health issue, particularly in developing countries where majority of diseases are waterborne. Under this project, the CSR activity will be included identifying areas and provides necessary equipments for safe drinking water. Some amount of money will also be spent for eradicating hunger, poverty and Malnutrition and helped the poor and marginal people to come out of that.

  4. Relief/ Donations: The CSR programme will also be responding to the calls for national duty and contribution of amounts for Eradicating hunger, poverty, setting up homes for senior citizens, promotion of sports, malnutrition and Welfare of Animals etc.
